How do I take a picture (screen shot) of my desktop?

To take a screen shot picture of your desktop first minimize all of your other application that may be running (that you don't want to take a picture of). Then press the [Alt]+[Print Screen] (on some keyboards it may read [prtscr] or [Prnt Scrn] on the actual key). When you press alt+print screen it does appear to do anything (nothing is written to the screen) but what it does do is to take a screen shot and put it into your clipboard. From there you can go to an application that can handle images like Microsoft Paint and paste it in (Control V). If this doesn't work try just pressing the [Print Screen] key by itself and then pasting the screen capture into Microsoft Paint. Finally, on some computers you will need to press the [Fn] and [Print Screen] keys at the same time.
